Salvia Divinorum (Ska Maria Pastora) was discovered by the Mazatec Indians.
The shamans of the Mazatec tribe used this holy medicine to induce a trance. In this trance they could travel through the unconsciousness of the patient to find the source of a disease.
Effects:
The active compounds of Salvia Divinorum are salvinorin A en salvinorin B. The main compound salvinorin A is currently the strongest isolated hallucinogenic substance known.
You cannot compare Salvia with other hallucinogenic plants like magic mushrooms and cacti, is has it's own unique effect. Salvia causes only a short trip, 20 minutes to 1 hour. After this you return to reality quickly.
During the trip several states can occur: 2-dimensional hallucinations, out of body experiences, becoming a object, travelling back in time, being in more places at once and uncontrolled laughing.
Usage:
The Mazatec indians used two methods of consuming Salvia: chew for a long time and then swallow down the leaves, or dissolve the leaves partially in water and drink it. Both methods are not very tasteful and do require a large amount of leaves. It is important to use the salvia in a quiet, dark environment (with some candles for instance). A television is deadly for the experience, but an appropriate piece of music can be very inspiring. If you have no experience with salvia or other entheogenic substances, having a sober sitter present is absolutely necessary.

BE CAREFUL WITH THE 5X AND 10X EXTRACTS OF SALVIA, USE THEM ONLY WITH A SITTER PRESENT, AND IF YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH NORMAL SALVIA!!!
Salvia is not dangerous or addictive, but it is not a party drug! So use it in a quiet and intimate environment so the salvia can show it's full advantage. Most people do not feel an unpleasant hangover after using Salvia. Some people do report a mild headache, bronchial irritation, insomnia or irritability. These symptoms seem to be reported more often by people who smoke salvia than by those who chew it, and perhaps might be due to some combustion products, such as carbon monoxide rather than to salvinorin.

Overall Salvia is insane i used to buy the 20X and they have more powerful ones 40X and 60X but they might not sell them anymore but the extract is the way to go leaves just are not the same(Posted on 11/28/09)

Overall seriously the most awesome trip ever!! i first started off with a gram and smoked 2 hits and a weird feeling stuck my entire body, it was amazing. i thought for some reason that if i moved everything would fall apart into little pieces, and than i just stood there with a odd face and suddenly ran to the door, opened it and shut it.. hahah for no reason. but it was GREAT, and id totally try it again if i had the money!(Posted on 2/17/08)

Overall I have never before used Salvia, so I tried these. If you were to roll a salvia cigarette, you only need about 1 to 1 and a half inches to feel the effect. My first thought was, "Wow. This stuff's legal?". Pretty powerful substance. Chewing takes about a 1/5 of this total item to feel noticable effects. You're better off smoking it. This is a MUST purchase!(Posted on 2/27/07)

Overall i had never used salvia before when i bought this. it gave me a really nice, calming feeling, different from green. but it wasn't as good as i thought it would be, smoking it only gave a me a 30 sec head rush, and the rest of the time just a relaxing feeling. i have to try the extract soon, i've heard there is a huge difference.(Posted on 3/17/05)
