Salvia Divinorum (Ska Maria Pastora) was discovered by the Mazatec Indians. The shamans of the Mazatec tribe used this holy medicine to induce a trance. In this trance they could travel through the unconsciousness of the patient to find the source of a disease.
In contrast to most Salvia extracts on the market, our Salvia extracts are 'standardized'. This means that it is purified, having several benefits over 'crude' extracts:
- It is more potent than crude extracts
- It is much less damaging to your health than crude extracts, containing no extra plant fats or solvent residues
- It can be kept much longer, in theory indefinitely when kept out of direct sunlight
- The quality is consistent from batch to batch
Effects:
The active compounds of Salvia Divinorum are salvinorin A en salvinorin B. The main compound salvinorin A is currently the strongest isolated hallucinogenic substance known.
You cannot compare Salvia with other hallucinogenic plants like magic mushrooms and cacti, is has it's own unique effect. Salvia causes only a short trip, 20 minutes to 1 hour. After this you return to reality quickly.
During the trip several states can occur: 2-dimensional hallucinations, out of body experiences, becoming a object, traveling back in time, being in more places at once and uncontrolled laughing.
Usage:
The Mazatec Indians used two methods of consuming salvia: chew for a long time and then swallow down the leaves, or dissolve the leaves partially in water and drink it. However, both methods are not very tasteful.
When you are new to salvia, start of with only a very small amount to test your sensitivity. The effect of salvia are different for each person and can for some be very overwhelming. Be especially cautious with the 20x extract!!
It is important to use the salvia in a quiet, dark environment (with some candles for instance). A television is deadly for the experience, but an appropriate piece of music can be very inspiring. If you have no experience with salvia or other entheogenic substances, having a sober sitter present is absolutely necessary.

Salvia is not dangerous or addictive, but it is not a party drug! So use it in a quiet and intimate environment so the salvia can show it's full advantage. Most people do not feel an unpleasant hangover after using Salvia. Some people do report a mild headache, bronchial irritation, insomnia or irritability. These symptoms seem to be reported more often by people who smoke salvia than by those who chew it, and perhaps might be due to some combustion products, such as carbon monoxide rather than to salvinorin.

Overall This was the most amazing experience of my entire life. It was not like anything else I've ever done. It was FAR more intense than LSD.
At first we tried sprinkling some of it on top of some chronic and we used a pipe I also bought on this site. Just that alone made me trip harder than I ever have on anything.
Then we smoked some straight up without the chronic and used a bong. That's when shit got REALLY crazy.
I had a total out of body experience and went places I can't even conceive of.
I'm working on a write-up of my experience as well as what happened from the point of view of the people I did it with. I posted part one here, and plan to write up the rest tonight:

Everyone keeps saying that this isn't something you're going to be prepared for and that it isn't a party drug, but I didn't really understand until last night.

Overall Lord. This stuff is quick and potent. That's for sure. If you don't watch out, you will lose your pipe once you take a hit. You have to be quick to set it down. This stuff hits hard. And first few times are strange, I felt like I was in a Dr. Pepper Can being made and the aluminum was closing in on me and getting smaller and smaller. But later, this lady Maria took me to a fiesta. Ever since then, I've seen Maria and we always go party together. But you cannot function while you are tripping up on this stuff. Watch out also, because you may get extremely hot and a tingling throughout your body.(Posted on 2/7/10)

Overall I got this stuff a few weeks ago and all I can say is holy fuck. You only get a gram (if that!) but, you'll get about 20 smokes out of it. The first couple of smokes I only took 3 or so good hits and the experiences were more of a dreamy high. It wasn't til I took 5 hits that I really started feeling this shit. Overall Salvia is something you take when you want to relax and go on a vision quest. If you go in just wanting to see crazy visions or underestimate it's power, it will bite you. If you relax and think of something enjoyable, you will have a nice trip. The effect to me was like a very great, powerful, and vivid dream. I was very surprised and pleased. Give a low dose a try first then move up to the more concentrated stuff.(Posted on 12/22/09)

Overall Not sure on potency, but a friend and I bargained for 100x our first time. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be doing it again. I can't say for sure if it's right for everyone, because he had a lot of fun on it and laughed a lot. He told me during his trip he thought he was the Toys R' Us giraffe. For me, my childhood attacked me and I haunting sense of duality--and panicked. Definitely have a spotter if it's a first time dealie. Salvia is unique in the sense that the transition from reality to the hallucination is seamless. You won't realize you're hallucinating until somebody reminds you. It's odd because you are completely aware of what's happening the whole time and you remember all of it afterwards.(Posted on 12/10/09)

Overall I really enjoy smoking this stuff, however the high doesn't last very long. I found that if you do about 1 pinch of weed at the bottom of the bowl and then two pinches of salvia on top, it works the best. You gotta remember to use a bong or bubbler though, or you won't be able to hold the hit in for the minimum 30 seconds. The weed also helps keep the high going longer and will also keep you chill so there aren't any bad trips. At one time I felt as though I was willingly strapped to the front of a train at high speed. It wasn't scary at all, just exhilarating. Another time I felt like I was a pilot in a WWII dog fight, shooting guys down and such.(Posted on 10/24/09)

Overall Ok there are rules that no one has mentioned. YOU HAVE TO USE A BONG.... PERIOD!!!!!!!! Its does not take much. Take one a quick big hit,,,, If you can take another do so and hold it in as long as possible. If you cant take the second hit then hold in the first one as long as you can. Exhale on hold on!!!! Have a buddy around to grab the bong and the slide it hits you fast very fast. The moments to come will be like nothing you have ever done before. Overall My friend got some of this and we hit it I held mine in 4 like 20 seconds and then I took another huuuuuge hit the kind u get once in a wile wen blaze mad weed and I didn't trip but i got kind of a pot high and wen it went away I felt cleaner newer like refreshed very awesome ,I love this stuff but u mite as well by weed instead this is amazing stuff if u like 2 meditate overall if u can afford it, get it.(Posted on 8/25/09)
