Just picture it: sunny, breezy Oahu, Hawaii in 1973, the sweet scent of Maui Wowie and Kona Gold in the air. That's when Celebration Pipes were first created, and nearly 40 years later, Celebration Pipes are more in demand than ever and the basic design has remained just the same. Handmade in the USA from Lavastonewear, a unique composite of high-fired ceramic textured with real lava rocks, then meticulously plated in 22K gold, platinum, or one of five other colorful finishes, these unique hand pipes are a luxurious way to experience the “aloha” of Hawaii anywhere in the world!
It all started when DaPiper first made these beautiful pipes as stocking stuffers in 1973. An ad for Celebration Pipes in the very first issue of High Times Magazine in 1974 drew over 250 orders in the first month, and as word got around, these pipes grew in popularity and led to commissions for such famous names as Cheech and Chong, Bob Marley and The Wailers, Woody Harrelson, Hugh Hefner, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Willy Nelson and countless others. Recently Celebration Pipes designed a custom hand pipe for Snoop Dogg featuring gold hematite and an opal birthstone inlay.
Today Celebration Pipes is still a family business and every pipe is still individually handmade with pride. They are as excited as ever about meeting fans in the music and smoking cultures, and new pipe styles are still being rolled out, with their latest addition, Rastafire, designed especially for Ziggy Marley, becoming an instant hit!
Each pipe is delivered with a handmade velvet and satin pouch and packaged in a gift box suitable for storage or display. A certificate of authenticity is included, signed and dated by the artist, and each pipe is numbered and signed. An average of 3500 pipes are produced per year. In commemoration of their 40th anniversary in 2013, only a limited run of 3000 Celebration Pipes will be made, along with 1200 birthstone pipes, 100 for each month's stone.
With their unique, exotic look, natural feel, excellent performance and durability, once you own a Celebration Pipe, you'll know why “No Ka Oi” is printed on every box — that's Hawaiian for “the very best”.
