The first Bolloré factory was founded in 1822 on the banks of the Odet. The second in 1893, was created in the Cascadet Mill and specialised in the production of thin papers and cigarette papers made exclusively from flax and textile fibres. But only when René Bolloré created the Odet Cascadet Bolloré brand in 1918, did the OCB story really begin to unfold.
By the early 1950s, more than 140 billion - one in ten of the world’s cigarettes - was rolled with an OCB paper.
Among roll-your-own smokers across the world, OCB has gained and maintained a reputation for consistent excellence and high quality. From the selection of the raw materials, to the holographic lettering on the sleek black and silver packaging of the “Premium” range, every stage of the manufacturing process is carefully monitored both to guarantee the quality of the product and to improve the manufacturing techniques themselves, striving always to lead the field.
The OCB product range includes the traditional “Classic” papers (in white packets) and the newer “Premium” range (in black packets). Both are ultra thin, chlorine free, slow-burning and use natural gum arabic to ensure that they stick every time. Every paper is “watermarked” as a sign of high quality. While the popularity of the “Classic” range centres on its flax/hemp composition, the “Premium” range has become popular due to the fact that it is so thin that it is virtually transparent.
