If you have the mad scientist def. pick up a few of these to have as spares. I have broken a few along the way and luckily have a few laying around. Great piece overall just need a few of them in case.

Holes are bigger than the one that comes with the Mad scientist, so I use this one and save the orig. for backup... Def worth getting 1 or 2!!!!!

I did like a few wise men have said: " get an extra perc for your mad scientist" and bought one. Very happy with the Bong and the Perc especially its a lot thicker than I thought it would be!! Holes are larger than I was expecting as well! Beautiful Glass .

definitely get an extra perc, these things seem very fragile as everyone else probably has commented already. also, the mad scientist supplies a metal hook to lower it in, but use a piece of string to lower the perc into the bong. that will save u a lot of headache as i have found! also, before placing perc and water into the top chamber, it also fits ice very nicely as well! placing a few cubes on top completes the ultimate bong

Purchased the Mad Scientist as my first real bong about 7 months ago. The perc. laster about 1 of those. First, the top blue i=ring broke. I managed to get it out, and Gorilla Glue it back on. It then broke again on the male joint during removal I believe. Luckily only one shard broke off, so I managed to make a make-shift jig, glue the piece back on, used some Teflon to make sure the seal was nice and tight. They work great when they work, but if you're going to grab a Mad Scientist, grab a spare perc while you're at it. It does work great though...adds a nice extra chamber for smoke to pass through water. They don't really advise this, but before you fill your bong, turn it horizontal and slide a small few cubes in so they rest on it, and you now have a diffuser, 2 water chambers with perc, throw a pre-cooler on, and you're set. But seriously, grab an extra or two...they're not easy to find.
