Bubblers offer powerful percolation systems and water filtration of smoke in a smaller package than a traditional bong. Breaking up smoke into bubbles increases the surface areas so the smoke is cooled down and flavor is distinctly improved. It's a little easier on your throat and lungs without affecting the potency of your smoke.
A bubbler can take one of a few different forms. As a handpipe, a bubbler features a large chamber for water, where a small downstem under the bowl allows smoke to pass through the water for cooling and filtration of tar and carcinogens. You get a smoother but just as satisfying hit off the pipe. Standing bubblers look like a small bong, often with a long neck ending in a rounded mouthpiece. Bubblers are also available as attachments, with standard-size ground-glass joints that can be easily interchanged with your favorite bong accessories.
Clear glass scientific bubblers generally feature a sleek, clean look, like the GlassCity 10-arm Tree Perc Bubbler, a collaboration with SNOB glass artist Hans Meijer. Others are intricately worked with colored glass by well-known artists like HOPS. Keep an eye on this section — we are always on the lookout for the latest in scientific glass bubblers!
