There's so much to learn about glass pipes, but one of the most frequently asked questions we get is, do color-changing glass pipes really work? Short answer, yes! Whenever you see the word "fume" in a pipe's description, it means that gold, silver, or another precious metal was held in the flame during the glass-blowing process. Over time, as you use your pipe, the heat and build-up will cause the fumed areas to slowly change color, with gold creating pinkish hues and silver creating bluish hues. Depending on how often you use your pipe, this may happen in days, weeks or months. When you thoroughly clean your pipe, you will see it return to its original coloring. Most of these photos show a pipe that has already been used to give an idea of how your pipe will look when it begins to change colors, so don't be alarmed if your pipe looks a bit different from the photo when you receive it!

Every piece available from American Glass Works has been designed and hand-blown by the same artist.
