Cleaning your Glass Blunt

Glass blunts are amazing. They give you the portability of a joint, without going to all the trouble of rolling one. And, if you know how to clean a glass blunt, they’ll last you for a long time.

That’s why we’ll tell you exactly how to clean a glass blunt, going through the do-s and don’t-s to help you keep your piece well maintained, and how to ensure you always get an amazing smoking session out of them.

Let’s get to it!

How to Clean A Glass Blunt, Step by Step

Here’s how to clean your glass blunt:

Here’s what you’ll need:

To properly clean a glass blunt, you’ll only need three things:

  1. Glass cleaner: Using a proper glass piece cleaner like this one or this one allows you to save time while cleaning.
  2. A pipe cleaner: Although most glass blunts get shipped with a small pipe cleaner, we recommend using pipe cleaners with soft and hard bristles to get the job done faster.
  3. A paper towel: To dry your piece when you finish cleaning it.

Got everything? Let’s start cleaning.

Step 1: Disassemble your glass blunt

If your glass blunt has metal parts or moving pieces, you’ll likely be able to disassemble. This will allow you to clean your blunt more easily, making sure you can get into all cracks and crannies.

Step 2: Apply your cleaning solution to your pipe

Distribute your class cleaner along all surfaces, paying close attention to the dirtier inside areas. If you’re using isopropyl alcohol, you’ll typically have to submerge your piece in the alcohol and wait overnight.

If you’re using glass cleaners, you can skip the wait and directly go to the next step.

Step 3: Clean your blunt with the pipe cleaner

You can start by simply rotating the blunt against the pipe cleaner. Then, locate the areas that still need work and concentrate on those.

Make sure to pay close attention to any other small pieces, and make sure you thoroughly clean all areas where debris may build up.

Step 4: Rinse and dry

Remember, you’ll be smoking out of it. That’s why, unless you want to smoke glass cleaner (which we don’t recommend), you’ll need to rinse your piece and make sure all cleaner is gone.

Once your piece is rinsed, use your paper towel to dry up all surfaces of your glass blunt.

Step 5: Assemble, and enjoy!

If your piece needs assembling, you can do it as soon as you’ve made sure all pieces are dry. Now all you need to do is to fill up and smoke up!

Should you use salt when cleaning a glass blunt?

Although using salt may help you clean up your glass blunt a bit faster, especially when using alcohol, salt isn’t a great long-term solution. Salt, especially coarse salt grains, have the capacity to scratch glass. Using something this abrasive will end up damaging your piece, and can create small scratches where dirt can accumulate.

Once the dirt settles in, you’ll at best have to spend longer cleaning your blunt, and, at worst, end up ruining the piece.
