Snoop Dogg Got High and Discovered a Pine Cone

Grasscity

Recently our favorite ganja enthusiast Snoop Dogg, made a trip to Martha Stewart’s vast compound in Katonah, New York. while he was there, naturally he managed to get properly baked and do some walking around Martha’s giant estate. While on his journey he found something he had never seen before: a pine cone. My last house had two giant pine trees in the backyard and my back deck was always covered in pine cones. They’re so routine to me, I cannot imagine someone being so tripped out over a pine cone. Yet here he is. Anyone who has seen Snoop Dogg’s nature videos, done in the style of David Attenborough’s nature shows knows how fascinated Snoop is by nature. He was so excited and flummoxed by his find that he even posted about it on Instagram, saying that he was going to bring it all the way back to California (which is not an area completely devoid of pine cones). “Somebody tell me what this is. A who? That's a pine cone,"  he asks in the video. View on Instagram Regardless of your familiarity with pine cones, or nature in general, you have to admit that it is pretty hysterical and a little endearing to watch someone as famous as Snoop Dogg get so excited over something as mundane as a pine cone. If you haven’t yet, you should check out his nature documentary style clips on the Jimmy Kimmel show. They are definitely worth looking at, especially if you’re on the same level as Snoop. Leafbuyer.com, the site that connects cannabis consumers to the best deals on products available in dispensaries in their area, has unveiled exclusive photos and video of “Markle Sparkle,” a new strain of cannabis developed by Tyler Dooley, the nephew of the soon to be member of the royal family Meghan Markle. Dooley is the son of Meghan’s half-brother Thomas Markle Jr.   Dooley partnered with the Denver-based company Leafbuyer.com, and has released the first photos of Markle Sparkle. “We’re thrilled Mr. Dooley chose Leafbuyer to help launch his new ‘royal’ strain,” Kurt Rossner, CEO of Leafbuyer Technologies Inc, said. “Our job, as the premier cannabis deals, news, education and lifestyle website, is to help consumers find products like Markle Sparkle once it’s available for purchase at local dispensaries.”   Dooley currently grows cannabis for medical use in Grants Pass, OR. He cultivated the special strain to honor his aunt, Meghan Markle, and her upcoming marriage to Prince Harry. He along with his business partner, Mama D. and Daley Organics, a premier grower in the northwest collaborated on cultivating and growing the new strain. Markle Sparkle will be released June 2 at the High Times Cannabis Cup Northern California at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa. Dooley, along with representatives from Leafbuyer.com, will be offering samples of Markle Sparkle. The new strain will sell at dispensaries for approximately $280/oz.   Markle Sparkle is a delectable sativa-dominant hybrid, which can be used to relieve pain and anxiety, but this is all of the information he is ready to divulge at the moment. “I can’t reveal too much at this point,” states Dooley, “but what I can say is it smells like blueberries and it’s made up of three different strains – Blue City Diesel, Blueberry Northern Lights and a third secret strain, which you’ll find out on June 2!”   Curious about the new royal strain? You can go here and here for more information on Markle Sparkle. As a bonus, you can check out the video. You can also go to Leafbuyer.com for more info.

This Valentine's Day, the Perfect Gift is Weed

Grasscity

Valentine’s day is next week, so you’d probably better have some sort of nice surprise planned for your partner. There are lots of possibilities on this most lovey dovey of days. I would suggest surprising them with some of these deliciously dank weed chocolates. Everyone likes getting chocolate, so it would follow that everyone would like getting weed chocolates, right? These aren’t just any weed chocolates, these are high end, high quality cannabis candies. The weed chocolates are from Oakland company Défoncé Chocolatiers, and come in a beautiful box, filled with either white chocolate, hazelnut, or dark chocolate weed filled candies. Mmmmmm. If there is a downside, it’s that the weed chocolates are not all that potent. Under California state law, edibles cannot contain more than 10mg of THC. If you’re looking for other ideas, you could always find a cannabis dinner party. Depending on where you live, there could still be time to find one. Are you looking for some flowers for your wife or girlfriend? You could get a different type of bouquet of flowers, or rather, a bouquet of flower. Cannabis bouquets are becoming more and more popular among cannabis connoisseurs, and there is still time to order your bouquet. They’re kind of pricey though, with some bouquets containing an ounce going for 400 dollars. Is she worth it? Yes, yes she is. If you’re on a budget, there are still plenty of things you can do. You can try baking your own edibles, which is easy, quick and inexpensive. If you’re not all that talented in the kitchen, you can always just buy a bag of some really fancy frosty, sticky buds and have a bowl waiting for them when they get home. Of course, you can always just buy them a new piece. I’m sure no matter what you decide to do for Valentine’s Day, you’ll make the right decision. What are you doing for your partner on Valentine’s Day? Tell us in the comments!

Seth Rogen And Snoop Dogg Don't Mess With Edibles

Lindsey van Wanrooij

Actor, comedian, and well known cannabis connoisseur Seth Rogen divulged a rather surprising fact about himself and Snoop Dogg during a recent appearance on Howard Stern’s show on Sirius XM Radio. Apparently neither him or Snoop Dogg mess around with edibles. Surprising, right? Apparently the comedian was talking to the world famous rapper about, what else, weed. When Rogen asked Snoop if he liked doing edibles, he said, “I don't fuck with edibles because they ain't got no off button.” Edibles aren’t Rogen’s favorite method of consumption either. “I've done a lot of drugs,” he said on Stern’s show. “The most negative drug experiences I've ever had in my life are from weed edibles. No amount of MDMA I've done makes me feel as fucked up as having one bite too much of a weed brownie.” He goes on to talk about taking edibles before going to see Rogue One with his wife and in-laws, and how they made the movie way too intense for him. The whole exchange is pretty damn hilarious and well worth checking out. First off, I love edibles. Those delicious gummies will always be my weakness. Rogen and Snoop Dogg have a point though. There is no off button when it comes to edibles. It’s far too easy to overdo it. I’ve only had one negative experience with edibles, but this one experience was the only negative experience I’ve ever had when taking cannabis. A lot of people I know are reluctant to smoke weed because of one bad experience with taking too many. It’s always because of taking too many too. We’re better at knowing our dosages now, of course, but we’re not all the way there yet. This is why you have to take the recommended dosage. Edibles hit you way harder than smoking and it is impossible to know exactly how they will affect you. The possibility of a bad trip is no reason to avoid them entirely, especially if you’ve never tried them. Just because Snoop Dogg doesn’t like them, doesn’t mean you won’t. The Successful Stoner: Cannabis Users Are Happier, More Successful

Lindsey van Wanrooij

One of the prevailing myths about people who use cannabis that just doesn’t seem to go away is the myth of the unemployed and unmotivated stoner. Well, maybe we can swap that inaccurate stereotype for another one: the successful stoner. According to a new study, people who use cannabis tend to be happier and more successful than their non-consuming counterparts. Surprising, right? No, not really. I know that I’m happier than my non-stoner friends, so that part seems pretty obvious. I’ve always known that the stereotype of the unsuccessful stoner was a myth, but to find out that the opposite is true, is a pretty sweet vindication. Take that high school vice principal who said I would never amount to anything! The study was conducted by BDS Analytics, a firm specializing in market research, which recently began a partnership with the cannabis industry. Participants consisted of 1,000 residents from Colorado and California who were either users of cannabis, or people who did not use use cannabis, called “acceptors” and “rejectors”. They were asked various questions about life satisfaction, mental health, employment, etc. Results showed that 20% of the cannabis users in California were people who had Master’s degrees, compared with 12% of rejectors. Annual household income was also higher among acceptors (93,800) than rejectors (70,000). In Colorado, 64% of acceptors had full time jobs, compared to 54% in the rejector group. As fas as life satisfaction, five out of ten acceptors reported that they were more satisfied with life than they were a year ago, compared with only four out of ten in the rejector group. Huh, there’s so many stereotypes that are debunked by these study results: the unmotivated stoner, the unemployed stoner, and the irresponsible stoner. The successful stoner sounds a lot better to me. Maybe some people can stop bugging us about how much we smoke. In fact, I should probably start smoking more. Brb. I Smoke Weed To Enhance Reality, Not Escape It

Grasscity

I need to get something off of my chest, you guys. I was recently having lunch with a friend, and she was telling me that she was having problems with her current boyfriend. Her ex (the guy from the previous relationship) told her, “That’s what you get when you date a stoner and a gamer.” His point was that stoners make terrible partners because when we are having problems in our relationships (or in any aspect of life) we can just smoke our weed and not have to deal with our issues. The thing that people who don’t smoke don’t seem to understand is that we smoke weed to enhance reality, not to escape it. First of all, I’ve never smoked any cannabis that’s allowed me to escape reality. Sure, cannabis can alter your perception of time, as well as your perception of what it is to eat a full bag of chips. Cannabis is the only substance that enables you to sit through a seven hour Community marathon, and also appreciate the philosophical themes of Adventure Time. Cannabis turns any stoner with a bare kitchen into a gourmet chef. Cannabis enhances all of these experiences, but it does not help you escape reality. I don’t use cannabis because I hate my job, or my life. I don’t smoke weed because I can’t pay my bills. I definitely don’t smoke weed to avoid working on my relationship. As a matter of fact, cannabis has done a lot to help my relationship. I am depressed about the state of the world and Donald Trump being the president, but smoking weed doesn’t help me escape those facts. It does make those things easier to process, but I don’t forget them. You know what does help you escape reality? It’s alcohol. You know what does destroy relationships? That would be alcohol. Guess what also destroys your health and can possibly cost you your job? Ummm...alcohol. Perhaps before you judge people for smoking a plant, you should consider those things. I smoke weed because I’m bipolar and I have social anxiety disorder, and it helps me deal with it without taking pills. I smoke weed because it helps make me a better person. I smoke weed to enhance reality, not escape it. Image Source: You Tube What are your thoughts on people like this? Are they right? Share in the comments!

Necessities For A Traveling Stoner

Grasscity

Is it hard for you to stay in one place for long? Does your will belong to the whim of the wind? If so, you better stock up before heading out with these necessities for the traveling stoner! A Small Pipe Or One-Hitter An obvious necessity for any trip, a tool for toking that you love will a lifesaver. Grab yourself an awesome Digger One-Hitter or a colorful bat that shows off your style, whatever it is, just make sure it's durable and easy to load and clean! Rolling Papers In the event your favorite travel piece is dirty, misplaced, or God forbid, broken, it's always good to have a backup plan. Papers are the best backup plan you could ask for since they're light, thin, and everybody loves joints! Rolling Tray/Pouch Rolling papers are only as good as your ability to roll. For those who aren't very skilled at rolling on the go, it might be a good idea to carry a rolling kit or tray with you as well! Sturdy Stash Bags Or Tin Another important part of your travel-case is to make sure you're able to remain discrete, so that means being able to keep your stuff out of sight and impossible to smell. Eye Drops Of course, there are some places more green-friendly than others, so be ready to adapt with some smell-good and eye drops to cover up the possible dankness coming off your stuff. A Traveling Case To Carry It All Finally, you need to find a carrying bag that you absolutely love. I'm the type of person who likes to keep all my valuables on me, so having a comfortable backpack or messenger back is incredibly important. However, I also advise caution from simply walking around in public with your stash bag, so maybe consider a bag that is small enough to fit inside another bag. Why Being A Stoner In Your 30s Is Super Dope

Why Being A Stoner In Your 30s Is Super Dope

Grasscity

I’ve been smoking weed for almost 16 years now, after starting in my early teens. I’ve experienced the fun of being a stoner at every stage of my youth, and I can tell you that as you get older, being a stoner only gets better and better. Being a stoner at any age is awesome, but being a stoner in your 30s is super dope. You’ve Got Your Life In Order Unlike when you are in your late teens and twenties, by the time you hit your thirties you’ve got things more or less figured out (unless you’re some kind of super over achiever, which I was definitely not when I was in my early twenties). You’re hopefully done with college and you have a steady job. You’re hardcore partying days are mostly behind you. My point is that people are not going to be bothering you so much about your herb habit, especially if you’re already moderately successful. You’re Better At Budgeting I don’t know about you, but I was terrible with budgeting money when I was in my early twenties. I used to spend around $300 a week on weed, which naturally left me with no money for anything else, with the exception of rent (and more weed). Now, I still suck at budgeting, but I’m waaay better than I was a decade ago. I know now to budget for other things like food and my power bill first, then I’m allowed to treat myself. You Know How To Conserve When I was in my late teens and early twenties, conservation and cannabis didn’t even belong in the same sentence. My motto was “smoke if you got it." As far as I was concerned I could always just buy more. This was how I came to spend 300 a week on pot. Now, I’ve learned how to conserve my stash, and I know that just because I have it doesn’t mean I have to smoke it. Cutting out the hourly bong bowls to myself really went a long way when it came to learning how to conserve my herb. Your Brain Is Done Developing Your brain is done developing at the age of twenty five, which means that potential side effects such as short term memory loss are less likely to be a problem for stoners over 25. I actually have noticed a difference in the way being stoned feels now, versus ten or even only five years ago. Indicas make me feel less socially awkward than they did then; sativas make me feel more energetic, to the point where smoking is closer to resembling a stimulant to me. Cannabis Makes Aging Easier As much as I am loathe to admit it, I can feel myself getting older. My back hurts more than it used to, my bones are starting to creak, and I’m also more short tempered than I used to be. As you well know, cannabis is an amazing plant with tons of health benefits. Naturally smoking herb makes getting older a hell of a lot better than not smoking herb. My back pain vanishes instantly after smoking a fat indica bowl, and it makes me feel like less of a curmudgeon too. Being A Stoner Isn't Just A Hobby, It's A Lifestyle

Being A Stoner Isn't Just A Hobby, It's A Lifestyle

Grasscity

As a stoner, you probably take some flak. Not to say that people generally dislike stoners, but there are still negative stigmas that surround the cannabis culture. I think that this all starts when people assume that being a stoner is simply a hobby, something lazy kids do when they're bored. The truth is there's a lot more to the cannabis community beneath the surface like an entire economy, a medicinal field, an entire culture that is open to everyone! 1. Cannabis Is Used All Over The World For Recreational And Medical Benefits It's not as if just the folks in Colorado and Washington are the ones smoking cannabis, people enjoy the magical plant all around the world, regardless of its current legal standing. People have been fighting for their rights for years to utilize cannabis not only as a recreational means to blow off some steam, but as a life-saving medicine for a variety of different medical conditions. Although there are only a few states right now enjoying the limelight of legalized cannabis, this movement is worldwide with millions of supporters, and partakers. 2. Hobbies Don't Tend To Get WorldWide Political Movements Let's be honest, how many "hobbies" do you see get political movements these days? None? Thought so. People don't stand and fight for the rights of things they don't believe in, and cannabis is no different. If we even look back to prohibition in early 20th century America we see an example of how people refused to give up their booze regardless of the government's rules. Although cannabis and alcohol are very different, the fact remains the same that enough people feel passionate about the benefits of cannabis, recreationally and medically, to stand up and speak in support despite the current political climate. 3. It Doesn't Just Get You High, It's Medicine, Too From anxiety relief to helping chronic pain, sleep aid to epilepsy treatment, cannabis isn't just something that gets users high. With every passing day the world is growing more confident in the medical uses of cannabis, and every study that is released continues to tell us what we already know: cannabis can help patients with next to no risks, especially when compared to other prescription drugs utilized today. 4. The Global Cannabis Economy Is Growing Daily Cannabis legalization efforts are succeeding worldwide, and thus increase the amount of legal money being circulated in relation to cannabis. While state governments have made a fortune on taxing legal weed, there are multitudes of other benefits cannabis has to the economy. With every state that legalizes cannabis we see a great influx of need for new jobs to fill this market. From budtenders to growers, strain reviewers to edible chefs, cannabis is diversifying and expanding the small business economy to create a new stream of employment and income for stoners everywhere! 5. Cannabis Brings People Together After fighting for our ability to enjoy cannabis for a multitude of years, stoners all around the world can comfortably say that they feel like they're a part of something bigger, and they are. Regardless of your personal beliefs, it's impossible to deny the fact that the history of cannabis has led to a worldwide movement of people connected via a single plant. Whether cannabis is a medicine to you, it's your job, or it's just a way to unwind after a long day, there are millions of people all over the world that stand with you in support.
