Pot Pipes: Glass, Silicone & Metal Picks | Grasscity – Page 13

How Do You Choose the Right Pot Pipe?

Start with the material. Glass tastes cleanest, silicone survives drops and metal is the lightest to carry. Then choose the shape: spoon pipes are the easy default, sherlock pipes sit flat, steamroller pipes pull directly and chillums are slim. Check the bowl size and whether there is a carb hole.

How Do You Use a Pot Pipe?

Pack, light, and release the carb.

Pack the bowl loosely with an even grind.
If there is a carb hole, cover it with a finger and light while inhaling slowly.
Release the carb to clear the smoke.
Tap out the ash and let the pipe cool.
Wipe the bowl and rinse the pipe on a regular schedule.

Why Shop Pot Pipes at Grasscity?

Grasscity sorts pipes by material so you can match one to how you carry it: Pulsar and LA Pipes glass at the core, GC's own line for budget picks, Lotus and Empire Glassworks for color, plus ONGROK metal and Primate Glass specialties. Prices run from about $3 to $140, with a median near $30. Listings name the material and length, so a pocket spoon and a long sherlock are easy to tell apart.

The pipe is the original tool for a quiet, unhurried session. Pot pipes cover the classic hand-held styles, spoons, sherlocks, steamrollers and chillums, in glass, silicone and metal, with nothing to assemble and nothing to fill. Browse more in our Smoking Pipes collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pot pipe?

A compact hand-held pipe with a bowl at one end and a mouthpiece at the other. No water, no setup, just pack and light.

What shapes do pot pipes come in?

Spoons are the classic, sherlocks have a curved neck and flat base, steamrollers are open tubes and chillums are slim and straight. Our Spoon Pipes and Sherlock Pipes collections split them out.

Glass, silicone or metal?

Glass is the cleanest tasting, silicone shrugs off drops, and metal is light and tough. Match the material to how often the pipe travels.

Is a pipe better than a bong?

Different jobs. A pipe is portable and quick, while a bong filters through water for a cooler hit. Many people keep one of each.

How should I clean a pipe?

Soak glass or metal in iso and coarse salt, shake, rinse and let it dry. Silicone can be boiled or washed in hot water.

What does a pot pipe cost?

Prices here run from about $3 to $140, and the median is near $30. Spoons and one hitters are the most affordable.

Which pot pipe should a first-timer buy?

A glass spoon with a carb hole is the easiest to learn on and clean. Keep a grinder nearby, since an even grind burns better. Our Herb Grinders collection has options. For more, see our guide: Spoon Pipe vs Sherlock Pipe: Which Is Better?.
